Expected Learning Outcomes

The course is aimed at supplying adequate knowledge and comprehension of the Regional Volcanology. Specifically, primary objectives of this course will be the following: Knowledge of the distribution and main characters of volcanism related to different geodynamic settings; Ability in the independent interpretation of complex natural processes such as the genesis of magmas, their evolution, dynamics of volcanic eruptions and growth of volcanic edifices; Ability to carry out detailed field survey of volcanic areas and reconstruction of their main volcanological characteristics on the basis of observations on deposits.

Required Prerequisites

Fundamentals of Petrography, Petrology, geochemistry, basic Volcanology, Volcano-tectonics, Physics of Volcanism.
