Funding (10% Budget)

Ph.D. students, both with and without a study grant, are provided with funds for research activities in Italy and abroad in accordance with programme type and not less than 10% of the study grant.

Usage of funds is overseen by tutors and must be approved by the Ph.D. coordinator and authorised by the Department Director, so as to guarantee that the legitimacy of the request and adhere to administrative-accounting regulations.

Funds can be used for research activities both in Italy as well as abroad. For example, they can be used for conference registration fees, research trips in Italy or abroad, membership of scientific societies, as well as, to a limited extent, non-inventory items that the Ph.D. Coordinator considers strictly necessary for research activities.

Research abroad and mobility

Ph.D. students awarded a study grant must spend at least 6 months abroad during the three years of the Ph.D. programme, in order to be admitted to the final exam.
