TOSSICOLOGIA FORENSE ED ELEMENTI DI MEDICINA LEGALE

Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: NUNZIATA GIUSEPPA ELISABETTA BARBERA

Expected Learning Outcomes

The teaching of Forensic Toxicology provides the basic knowledge for the understanding of the mechanisms underlying the poisonings and acute poisoning induced by drugs, illegal drugs, volatile organic compounds (for example ethyl alcohol) and, in general, by xenobiotics. More specifically are studied the analytical techniques to identify and quantify the toxic substances in biological matrices.

Acquisition of information relevant to the exercise of the profession under the normative-legal and ethical profile with reference to consequences in criminal and civil law.
Acquisition of knowledge of the general problems of medico-legal interest on terms of correct methodology. Acquisition of basic knowledge to be applied to investigations of various areas of Forensic Medicine. Acquisition of the basal technical elements, even analytical, for the forensic diagnosis of acute and chronic poisoning.
