Academic Year 2026/2027 - Teacher: LAURA MACCARRONEDetailed Course Content
The course program is divided into a general part and a special part. The first will focus on sources, both international and community, as well as national. In particular, the most important international treaties, Community directives, and constitutional principles will be discussed during the course. The first part will also cover the distribution of environmental jurisdiction between the state, regions, and local authorities.
The second part will cover: the Environment Code, the principle of prevention, precaution, and environmental damage; the authorization procedures required by current legislation, integrated environmental authorization (AIA), environmental impact assessment (EIA), and strategic impact assessment (SEA). The course will be enriched for students with a discussion of leading cases, which will allow them not only to understand how justice operates, but also to verify how law applies to specific cases, finding a concrete dimension.
