C.M. EMATOLOGIA SPERIMENTALEModule APPLICAZIONI CLINICHE
Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: ALESSANDRA ROMANOExpected Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to recognize the various haematological pathologies, including prognostic and therapeutic perspectives according to the chemo-free approach.
At the end of the course, students will be able to choose and develop the most suitable technological approach for understanding the pathophysiological basis of hematological neoplasms, with particular reference to multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Course Structure
After a general overview of the mechanisms that regulate normal and pathological hematopoiesis, the student will be introduced to the definition and pathophysiology of the main diseases affecting blood cells whites. The notions that are needed for a level I differential diagnosis and for a general classification of the haematological patient and the current prospects for recovery or control of the disease will be privileged. In this sense, information will be provided on the main molecular and cellular diagnostic methods used in Hematology and mention will be made of the most modern therapeutic strategies used in Hematology, including the basic notions of transfusion medicine and cell therapies.
Required Prerequisites
Attendance of Lessons
Attendance is highly recommended due to the interactive nature of the lessons.
