General and Inorganic chemistry with Basics of Organic Chemistry
Module Basics of Organic Chemistry

Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: VALENTINA OLIVERI

Expected Learning Outcomes

The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge of the key concepts of organic chemistry. In particular, the course introduces the fundamental knowledge of the basic organic molecules concerning its structure, reactivity, properties.

Furthermore, about the so-called Dublin Descriptors, this course helps to acquire the following skills:

Knowledge and understanding:

  • The students will have to demonstrate their mastery of basic knowledge about organic chemistry.

Ability to apply knowledge:

  • The students will have to show knowledge and understanding of the main classes of organic compounds.

Autonomy of judgment:

  • The students will have to apply their knowledge, understanding, and skills.

Communication skills:

  • The students must be able to communicate clearly with a correct property of language and terminological rigor their conclusions.

Learning skills:

  • The students will have to develop learning skills that will enable them to continue studying in a self-directed or autonomous way.

Course Structure

Course structure includes frontal, collaborative and/or cooperative lessons.  Group works and individual research projects will be also encouraged.

Should the circumstances require online or blended teaching, appropriate modifications to what is hereby stated may be introduced, in order to achieve the main objectives of the course.

Detailed Course Content
