Quantitative X-Ray Map Analyzer

The Quantitative - X-Ray Map Analyzer is useful for the statistical processing of X-ray images. These are treated as multispectral images containing information about the distribution and the concentration of a given chemical element within a suitably selected micro-domain of a thin section (rock sample with a standard size of 3.5 * 2.5 cm, 30 microns thick). With the aid of the software, such images, acquired by SEM, can be classified (i.e. divided according to the types of recognizable mineral species) and subsequently balanced to extrapolate quantitative data concerning the mode, the mineral chemistry, and the microstructure of rocks and stone artifacts
